Burbank, Calif., July 12, 2010 – Warner Home Video and Turner Classic Movies introduce two new four-title sets from the TCM Greatest Classic Films Collection on November 2, 2010. Since February 2009, the collections have been made available in separate waves and promoted on-air throughout 2009 and 2010 on TCM (a complete listing of all collections is included below).

The latest installment consists of TCM Greatest Classic Films Collection: Busby Berkeley Musicals – Dames, Gold Diggers of 1937, Footlight Parade and 42nd Street; and TCM Greatest Classic Films Collection: Astaire and Rogers – The Gay Divorcee, Swing Time, Top Hat and Shall We Dance. Each collection is affordably priced at $27.92 SRP. Orders are due September 28, 2010.

The four films featured in TCM Greatest Classic Films Collection: Busby Berkeley showcase the talents of renowned director and musical choreographer Busby Berkeley, famous for his elaborate musical production numbers that often involved large numbers of showgirls choreographed to create complex geometric patterns in motion. Berkeley's works used dancers and props as fantasy elements in kaleidoscopic on-screen performances.

TCM Greatest Classic Films Collection: Astaire and Rogers features four of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers’s most memorable films. Quite possibly the most famous dancing duo ever paired, Astaire and Rogers captivated audiences with their on-screen chemistry throughout the 1930s, securing their legacy as enduring Hollywood icons.

42ND STREET (1933)

Ruby Keeler taps, Dick Powell croons, Ginger Rogers quips and musicals are back on the cinematic map as Berkeley imaginatively stages the title tune, “Shuffle Off to Buffalo” and more.

GOLD DIGGERS OF 1937 (1936)

Insurance peddler Dick Powell asks Joan Blondell to imagine how life would be “With Plenty of Money and You.” There’s razzle-dazzle aplenty too, with Berkeley’s precision-formation “All’s Fair in Love and War.”

FOOTLIGHT PARADE (1933)

James Cagney’s troupers roar through Chicago to stage same-night shows in different venues. Highlights: Dick Powell and Ruby Keeler meet “By a Waterfall,” Cagney seeks “Shanghai Lil.”

DAMES (1934)

“I Only Have Eyes for You.” And for the screen. Berkeley’s bravura creations include a subway dream and a motion-mosaic of a showgirl finale. With Dick Powell and Ruby Keeler.

THE GAY DIVORCEE (1934)

Oscar® winner for Best Music, Original Song (1935), “The Continental” revels in precision-dance joy, Cole Porter’s “Night and Day” sways with timeless grace and Fred and Ginger’s first top billing sets the tone for more film hits to come.

SHALL WE DANCE (1937)

A George and Ira Gershwin score has Fred tapping to “Slap That Bass” rhythms of a ship’s engine room and the duo’s “Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off” skate routine. Pure bliss!

SWING TIME (1936)

One of the team’s greatest! The Jerome Kern/Dorothy Fields score goes from jubilant (“Pick Yourself Up,” “Bojangles of Harlem”) to sublime (“A Fine Romance” and the Oscar®-winner for Best Music, Original Song (1937), “The Way You Look Tonight”).

TOP HAT (1935)

The pair’s best-remembered film features Fred’s signature “Top Hat, White Tie and Tails,” the incomparably romantic “Cheek to Cheek” and more in Irving Berlin’s tip-top score.
