Bring on ‘Om Shanti Om’
Warwick Racecourse has revealed that the hit Bollywood film it will be showing on its ‘Celebration of Bollywood’ race evening on 21st August is ‘Om Shanti Om’.
Starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, the romantic-reincarnation will be screened on the world’s largest mobile LED screen at 8.15pm, fifteen minutes after the last of the seven flat races of the evening.
The special night is to celebrate 100 years of Bollywood and is one of the highlights of the town’s week-long food and film festival.
In keeping with the Indian theme, Asian food will be available across the site, including in the hospitality boxes, restaurants and food stalls.
There’s also more reason than ever for locals to enjoy an evening at the races because all tickets for the main enclosure are just £10 each and reduced to a mere £5 each for Warwick residents (with production of photo and address ID for the CV34 postcode) when bought on the gate. As always, children aged 17 and under get in free when accompanied by an adult.
Gates open at 3pm with the first of seven flat races at 5pm. Last race is at 8pm and will be shortly followed by the film screening.
Huw Williams, general manager, Warwick Racecourse, said: “Our ‘Celebration of Bollywood’ race evening is shaping to be one of our biggest meetings of the year, so it’s great news to announce that ‘Om Shanti Om’ is the film we’re showing.”
