Children’s favourite on course for Warwick
Captain Barnacles from the Octanauts - a firm favourite on CBeebies - is taking a break from his undersea adventures when he visits Warwick Racecourse on August Bank Holiday Monday.
Gates open at 12.10pm for the dedicated family fun day, which features seven flat races, with the first one at 2.10pm.
As well as Captain Barnacles appearing at intervals throughout the afternoon, there’s plenty else going on to keep the kids happy.
Free entertainment includes slides, a mobile roller rink with roller skates, obstacle courses, a horse simulator, a laser paintball area, swing boats, face painting and much more!
Huw Williams, general manager, Warwick Racecourse, said: “Our Bank Holiday Monday Family Fun Day offers something for everyone. For the youngsters there’s loads to help burn off some energy, while Mum and Dad can enjoy the fantastic horse racing action.”
Adult tickets start from just £10 each, a family ticket is available for £30, while children aged 17 and under get in free.
“This is our penultimate flat race of the summer before the jump season starts, so it’s a great opportunity to admire some super-fast four-legged thoroughbreds while you can. Away from the horse racing action, the racecourse will be alive with youngsters enjoying all the free entertainment especially for them. It’s going to be a great family occasion,” added Huw.
