Sunday, March 15, at 2PM in Historic Armor Hall

Hailed by JAZZIZ Magazine as "a dean of golden tones and elegant, melody-respecting improvisational development,” Ray Vega and his Latin Jazz ensemble return to Armor Hall for a dynamic performance. Vega, a South Bronx native, has performed with such legendary musicians as Tito Puente, Mongo Santamaria, Lionel Hampton and Paquito D’Rivera. At Wave Hill, the ensemble performs Vega’s own work, as well as his unique takes on standard tunes, including "Rahsaan’s Run” by Woody Shaw, “Dual Force” by Buster Williams, “Obsesion” by Pedro Flores, “Africa” by John Coltrane and “El Manicero” by Moises Simon. Come early to enjoy a leisurely walk through the gardens and then settle in for this performance, starting at 2PM.
