Summer Birding & Nature Programs for Families at Wave Hill

Explore the beauty of the great outdoors this summer with a unique line up of birding and nature programs at Wave Hill. Discover and participate in scientific research in a new birding program and explore the lives of the different creatures that call our gardens and woodlands home, on themed, guided walks with Naturalist Pail Keim.

Sunday Morning Birding             July 14, August 11, 9:30am

Expert birder, naturalist and educator Gabriel Willow leads these regualr Sunday walks. Registration recommended. Ages 10 and older welcome with an adult. 

NEW! Birding & Technology      Sunday, July 8, 2-4pm

Participate in scientific research by observing and collecting data on local birds with naturalist Gabriel Willow. Ages 12 and older welcome with an adult. 

Dragonfly Walk                            Sunday, July 21, 12:30pm

Did you know that dragonflies begin their lives underwater? Join naturalist Paul Keim on this nature walk to observe interesting aspects of dragonfly behavior and view their aerial antics in the garden. Ages six and older welcome with an adult. 

Bat Walks                                     Wednesdays, July 24 & August 14, 7:30-9pm

Hunt for these mysterious creatures of the night with naturalist Paul Keim, the "Batman of Brooklyn." Use eyes and ears--and an echo locator--to search for bats as they skim the dusky sky looking for instects. $10 Member/$18 Non-member. Registration required. Ages 10 and older welcome with an adult. 

Butterfly Walk                               Sunday, August 18, 2pm

Naturalist Paul Keim leads thi nature walk in search of the colorful and delicate butterflies in the garden. Ages six and older welcome with an adult.
