The Mow-Down Garden Hoedown!
Bronx, NY, June 12, 2012― Grasses are everywhere! We eat grasses—our favorite and most basic foods come from grains like corn, oats, rice, wheat, rye, barley and millet, all of which are really grasses. Grasses are used to build baskets, brooms and even homes. Instruments are made from grasses. And of course, grasses are beautiful to behold. We’re celebrating this super plant family with all-American music, art-making, guided tours, games and more. All events are free, and take place both days. Admission to the grounds is free all weekend, thanks to the generous support of Target!
