Press invitation - Royal opening of Waves4Power's wave power system on September 21 in Fosnavåg, Norway
On June 2, 2017, Gothenburg-based Waves4Power's wave power system was connected to the mainland and began to supply power to the Norwegian power grid. This means that on September 21st, it will reach more than three months of continuous operation! It is now time to celebrate this milestone in fossil-free energy generation, along with the start of a new local manufacturing industry, with a gathering at Fiskåholmen's shipyard in Norway. His Majesty, King Harald V of Norway will attend the inauguration, which will be a festival complete with a full-featured program and various activities.

We welcome you to the opening ceremony and a day full of interesting presentations and events. The press is invited to participate throughout the day, but the official opening ceremony takes place at around 18:00 at a festive public ceremony in the center of Fosnavåg. His Majesty King Harald V of Norway will also attend. During this ceremony, we will announce the winner of the drawing contest amongst all the region’s 5thgraders to draw their version of the next generation wave power system.
Earlier in the day we will visit the future manufacturing site at Fiskåholmen, which will include more information about the Waves4Power Next Generation. A ferry from Valderøy to Fosnavåg will depart at 9.30 and arrive at 10.15. At 12.00 a ferry will depart from Fosnavåg to Fiskåholmen, returning to Fosnavåg at 16.00. There will be presentations and lectures by Waves4Power's partners at Fiskåholmen, as well as during the ferry trip there.
