Waystream has received another order in Germany and will in 2022 deliver switches for the build-out of a fiber network. The order has been placed by one of the leading suppliers of fiber-based broadband in Northern Europe, with special emphasis on Scandinavia and Germany.

The agreement includes delivery of 4,800 customer connections.

Waystream has won a deal in Germany, Europe's largest market, worth just over SEK 3 million in 2022.

“It is a proof that our products meet the needs of the German market. As the requirements for availability and speed of Internet services increase, the switches used in the fiber networks must meet modern requirements, as our switches do. We see great opportunities in the market and will continue our work of helping more customers build the fiber network of the future,” says Fredrik Lundberg, CEO of Waystream.

The equipment ordered is Waystream's leading access switch for city networks, ASR8048. It supports speeds up to 10Gbit/s per customer port, which creates a long technical and economic life for the installation. At the same time, there are important functions in the switch such as telemetry, which enables operators to minimize operating costs and increase availability and security in the network through a proactive and easy operation of the network and its services.

The deal was made through Waystream's partner, the Nordic system integrator NetNordic.

The pandemic has shown how important it is to be able to provide stable, fast and robust broadband. Waystream's equipment is an important component for regions and countries that need high speed broadband with high availability and fast response times. With the extended temperature support, Waystream's products fit very well in the German market, where street cabinets often lack cooling or heating,” says Trond E. Lundesgaard, Sales Director, NetNordic AS.
