German network operator Stadtwerke Barmstedt has selected Waystream’s MS4326 access switch for a new project in the municipality of Barmstedt. This is the first deployment of Waystream solutions in the Schleswig-Holstein area of Germany where a rapid expansion of fiber to the home is ongoing.

The Waystream MS4326 model will be used in a new expansion project where Stadtwerke Barmstedt builds and operates the network for its customers such as private housing cooperatives.

“We have tested the Waystream MS series and are very satisfied with its performance. That is why we decided to introduce the Waystream in our network solutions. The MS4326 will be used in fiber to the building projects to connect households with gigabit access.” says Mr. Jannik Rabe, Head of IT at Stadtwerke Barmstedt.

Waystream partner ANEDIS in Germany has worked with Stadwerke Barmstedt in their evaluation of the MS4000 series.

“Waystream’s switches are specifically designed to fit FTTH and this was a key deciding factor for Stadtwerke Barmstedt”, says Georg Brandt, CTO of ANEDIS.

The first units will be deployed during the summer of 2019
