Waystream wins two new deals in Denmark, total order value of 3.4 MSEK
Via its partner Conscia A/S in Denmark, Waystream has received two new orders regarding advanced access equipment from Fibia A/S. The total order value is SEK 3.4 million.
The orders consists Waystream’s ASR6000, a Layer 3 Gigabit Etheret access switch, which will be delivered to Fibia in Denmark during September and October this year. Fibia will use Waystream’s access equipment to upgrade its Fast Ethernet fiber network to Gigabit speed.
"That we once again gain confidence from Fibia to deliver equipment for upgrading is a proof that our products exceed expectations. Together we will ensure that even more households in Denmark have access to a truly fast internet connection. In Denmark, like Sweden and the rest of Europe, there is a strong focus on giving more residents access to Gigabit access and we see an increasing demand in this area," says Mats Öberg, CEO of Waystream.
Fiber-based network is the fastest growing broadband technology in Denmark. According to the Danish Energy Agency's report on telecom statistics for the second half of 2016, the total number of broadband subscribers via fiber in Denmark increased by 12.2 percent from year-end 2015/2016 to year-end 2016/2017. This corresponds to approximately 55,000 new fiber subscribers and the total number of fiber subscribers at year-end 2016/2017 was approximately 506,000.
