With Heating Oil prices in Northern Ireland at a 16 month low, consumers are being advised to take advantage of this current price relief and to fill up their tanks now, in preparation for the winter months ahead.

The current average price for 900 litres is sitting at around £480.00, this represents a saving of almost £75.00 when compared to the price for the same 900 litres in December 2011, which would have cost around £555.00. With fuel poverty a very real issue for many homeowners across Northern Ireland, a saving of this magnitude can make all the difference.

Paul Ward, MD of BoilerJuice.com, Northern Ireland’s leading website for heating oil, is actively urging oil consumers to re-think how and when they purchase their home heating oil and suggest that instead of waiting for the winter months to fill their oil tanks, when the demand and prices are usually at their highest, home owners should instead plan to buy their oil during the summer months when the prices are traditionally much lower.

He continued “some households are, of course, dictated somewhat by the ‘winter fuel allowance’ they receive each year and if the Government would consider paying this to heating oil users during the summer months, homeowners could get a lot more oil for their money”.

Boilerjuice.com provides its customers with an exclusive heating oil price chart that reflects the daily average price per litre of home heating oil across Northern Ireland. This price chart ensures oil buyers are able to make informed decisions about the best time to buy heating oil, which could in turn save them hundreds of pounds each year.
