ACDelco Acquires Space For More Growth

With ACDelco reportedly continuing to enjoy ‘sustainable’ levels of organic growth and increased market penetration in the UK aftermarket, the operation has recently expanded into additional office space within its current location. As ACDelco’s General Manager, Lee Quinney states: “What with centralising ACDelco’s European arm into our operation earlier this year and having expanded our manpower capability in the process, we had literally begun to creak at the seams. “The move internally, however, now gives us twice the space we previously occupied and presents the entire team with the physical room in which to flourish and continue to grow the business.” In addition to enjoying the usual benefits that accompany an expansionary office move, ACDelco now has access to its own meeting and training rooms and these will prove instrumental in helping the operation deliver improved communication presentations to both customers, suppliers and its own employees. What’s more, ACDelco’s expansion has not been restricted to purely internal space, It has also extended to its warehouse and logistics operation, where ACDelco has also seen its footprint increase by over a third. In addition to using the additional space to house product from across ACDelco’s global parts programme, the company has created a standalone distribution location specifically for oils and lubricants. Located on a 55-acre site that occupies some 1.25 million sq ft, the new distribution hub gives ACDelco the physical space to meet future growth predictions for this product group alone. “Having been successful in making the move without it impacting on our ability to continue delivering product on time, it is great to see the entire UK team up and running in their new environment. We are all working hard on delivering a number of exciting initiatives that we have in the pipeline, some of which are scheduled to break ahead of the year-end.
