ACDelco UK Takes On Europe

Global automotive parts specialist, ACDelco, has announced it will coordinate its pan-European operations from here in the UK. This latest decision comes as a result of the success of the business model that has been implemented by the UK aftermarket operation, particularly over the last three years. Briefed with strengthening ACDelco’s position in established markets such as Greece, Turkey, Portugal, Russia and Scandinavia, the centralised European operation will also be tasked with evaluating the potential within countries such as Germany, Spain and France. The person responsible for delivering ACDelco’s vision across Europe is the architect behind the highly successful UK operation, General Manager, Lee Quinney. who will now take on more of a European role. Relishing the challenge, Lee said: “This is an exciting phase of development for ACDelco and is something that we have been working towards for quite some time. Centralising ACDelco’s European operation from the UK will enable us to coordinate the development of the brand and parts programme more effectively, which in turn will help us progress and grow the business moving forward.” In addition to controlling parts stock and distribution from ACDelco’s logistics hub in Luton, the UK aftermarket operation will assume responsibility for finance, customer service and work closely with a number of WDs across Europe. As Lee adds: “Delivering growth across both established and new territories in Europe will centre on developing and increasing new relationships with WDs. Given that the UK product offering is mirrored across Europe adds further credence to coordinating activities from the one location.” He concluded by saying: “Over the last three years in particular, we have delivered a very logical, straightforward and no frills business model here in the UK that has centred on getting the basics right in terms of product, pricing, availability and parts distribution, whilst also promoting the proposition cost-effectively. It is on the basis of the success of this model that ACDelco has now bought into it for implementation in Europe.” -ENDS- PRES CONTACT: Paul Watson Wentworth Communications Limited Tel: 0161 973 6763 Fax: 0161 969 6813 Email: paul@wentworthcomms.co.uk
