atg airports renews five year contract with MoD

atg airports are delighted to announce that it has again renewed its longstanding and valued contract with the MoD. The leading international provider to the airport and airfield industry will continue to supply around the clock spares and maintenance support of airfield lighting and AGL systems at thirty nine RAF, Army and Navy airbases throughout the UK and overseas. Successfully maintained for the last seven years by atg airports, this prestigious contract also includes the training of AGL engineering personnel at MoD airbases. Embracing the latest regulations and safe working practices, atg’s comprehensive training programmes cover military maintenance, AGL control systems and constant current regulators. As part of the contract, atg airports will also be responsible for the design, upgrade and standardisation of all existing military AGL systems. This includes the maintenance and support of an atg SmartControl system currently installed at RAF Brize Norton, which is specifically designed to maximise aircraft throughput via existing runways and taxiways utilising dynamic and preconfigured routing. Commenting on the significance of this contract renewal, atg airport’s Operations Director, Antonio Garrido, said: “The MoD’s chief responsibility is to defend the United Kingdom and its interests overseas, and to strengthen international peace and stability throughout the world. atg airports is therefore hugely proud and privileged to have upheld its long standing relationship with this central organisation.” Antonio added: “Renewal of this contract is further confirmation of atg airports’ ability to provide global support for airfield control systems, from design and installation, to maintenance support and training services. atg has the ability not only to service individual organisations, but also large, complex and demanding worldwide organisations such as the MoD. This latest contract renewal is testimony to our capabilities when working in partnership with our customers. ” As part of the contract, atg airports is also providing consultancy for the temporary relocation of the AGL MCS control system at Gibraltar due to its refurbishment.
