Having recently joined the growing ranks of The British Contract Furnishing Association (BCFA), leading British stone engineers, Cumbria-based Burlington, today stand as the BCFA’s sole manufacturer of natural stone products. As a result, the BCFA will now help promote the Britishness of Burlington Stone – a sublime material native to the English Lake District - and the depth and diversity of the company’s product range to those involved in the UK contract furnishing market through its mantra of encouraging and maintaining levels of excellence in design, innovation, product quality and customer service. Commenting on Burlington Stone’s decision to join the BCFA, Sales & Marketing Director, Nick Williams said: “We believe that our stone is the best in the world both technically and aesthetically, so with the BCFA standing as the business association dedicated to supporting the UK contract furnishing market, the link up was an obvious one. We value the role they play in helping provide a vital marketing advantage to industry sector leading companies such as Burlington Stone. “Indeed we are already enjoying tapping into the support services the BCFA provides, which we are confident will result in Burlington Stone securing increased specification of both its interior and exterior stone product range within the hotels, restaurants, offices, schools & universities, hospitals, care homes, cruise ships, outdoor spaces and sporting and leisure venture sectors,” he added. And this is a view endorsed by BCFA Managing Director, Colin Watson. “We are delighted to have Burlington Stone as a member of the BCFA. Being a quintessential British company with a strong heritage, and having access to what is one of the finest sources of stone available in the world, they produce a stunning range of interior and exterior natural stone products that are perfectly aligned to what the contract furnishing market is looking for. We are confident that through their membership, Burlington Stone will become more widely recognised across all of the industry sectors that we support.” Established in 1970, The BCFA members furnish buildings throughout the UK, many of which operate on a worldwide basis. Adopting a strong commercial stance, the BCFA aims to improve the business prospects of its members and in doing so uses activities such as networking forums, a government lobby, exhibitions, publications and professional development. Situated in the Lake District National Park, Burlington today stands as the UK’s leading producers of natural stone products. Combining craftsmanship skills with modern manufacturing techniques, the company uses a prestigious source of natural stone that has been quarried for over 400 years to provide a wealth of luxurious natural stone, slate and limestone products. From sumptuous flooring, wall cladding, work surfaces, vanity units, surrounds and splashbacks within the home, to the highest quality natural roofing slate and an infinite number of external landscaping opportunities, Burlington has the capability to totally transform both traditional and contemporary developments. ISO 9001 certified, Burlington currently employs approximately 145 people, many of whom live within the National Park itself. Indeed families across several generations continue to work in what is a very traditional industry. As well as being able to offer standard products for immediate sale, Burlington has the capability of producing highly individual pieces to bespoke designs. Supporting this function, Burlington has an experienced in-house technical support team with the ability to provide invaluable advice and design assistance. -ENDS- CAPTIONS: BSPR07. 11 – BCFA.jpg – British stone engineers, Cumbria-base Burlington have become the BCFA’s first natural stone producer.
