Leading British stone engineers, Kirkby-based Burlington, is heralding the opening of its new Stone Studio a huge success. Introduced at a cost of £1/2m to help showcase the leading natural stone producers expanding range of high quality interior and exterior products, it is already helping spearhead the company’s invigorated drive into the high-end retail, interior design and consumer market sectors, not to mention having a big impact locally. Indeed in the three months since the official opening ceremony was conducted by Chairman, Lord Cavendish, the studio has been visited by a host of both homegrown UK and overseas visitors, including many leading international architects, clients and distributor partners. As Burlington Stone’s Sales & Marketing Director, Nick Williams states: “We have already welcomed a significant number of high profile and well respected clients through our doors and the feedback and the interest that people have shown in what in our minds is the most beautiful natural stone in the world, has certainly exceeded our expectations. “People have been particularly taken not only by the plethora of creative yet functional interior and exterior natural stone solutions that they are able to draw inspiration from, but the truly breathtaking backdrop that the studio is set against. What’s more, they all appear to be wanting to embrace the Burlington brand and all it stands for more enthusiastically than ever before,” he added. Having already bolstered its workforce having recruited an additional 13 employees, Burlington Stone is also enjoying a high level of success in the architectural and specification arena, again locally, nationally and internationally. The company is already working on the fabrication of materials for a number of prestigious projects, full details of which Burlington is set to announce shortly. STONE STUDIO Alongside an internal space occupying some 110 sq metres and which is adorned with an array of sumptuous and functional interior natural stone products, is an exquisitely designed and intricately presented hard and soft landscaping area. The latter serves to welcome visitors to the stone studio, which is set against a stunning panoramic Lakeland fells backdrop. Within the studio’s interior space, Burlington has cleverly created a series of cameo settings covering both traditional and contemporary interior design styles, each serving to portray the versatility of Burlington’s product offering, not to mention the tactility of the stone itself. Located at Cavendish House, Kirkby-in-Furness, Cumbria, LA17 7UN, the Stone Studio is open Monday – Friday from 9.00am to 5.00pm and Saturday from 10.00am to 3.00pm.
