WHALE’S KING OF RECYCLERS TAKES ON TRUCKFEST
Truckfest included a unique vehicle this year, Whale Tankers’ KAISERWhale Dirtywater Recycler Sewer cleaning vehicle. Amongst this year’s exhibits at the two-day Bank Holiday show was the largest and most sophisticated KAISERWhale ever produced by Whale - the Midlands-based specialist manufacturer to the waste and cleaning industries. Developed by Whale Tankers in technical partnership with Kaiser AG – an acknowledged leader in water recycling equipment in Europe - the KAISERWhale will stay onsite continuously recycling the dirty water removing the need to stop work to fill up with clean water. This ability significantly improves operating efficiency, proving it really is the King of its species. Whale Tankers’ customer, Hydro-Cleansing of Surrey - the south’s leading specialists in environmental waste solutions - has specified a vehicle that is as progressive and forward thinking as the company itself. Truly multi-functional, versatile and although spectacularly sophisticated, thanks to the Whale integrated CAN-BUS/PLC logic operating system, it is simple to operate. The KAISERWhale has fast become the leading dirty water recycler here in the UK. Commenting on behalf of Whale Tankers, Managing Director Mark Warmington said: “Visitors to Truckfest were able to feast their eyes on a vehicle that was a true showstopper. Not only does the Hydro-Cleansing KAISERWhale look the part, the technology that is behind it is truly leading edge. I would argue that no vehicle of its type in this country comes close in terms of visual impact and operational capability.” The man behind the operation of the KAISERWhale, Hydro-Cleansing’s Managing Director, Steve Hoad commented: “What better place to showcase such a stunningly visual and technologically advanced commercial vehicle than at Truckfest. Visitors to the show got the chance to witness the arrival of a bespoke vehicle that has the capability of undertaking any task that it is presented within our industry. We have big plans for the vehicle and are confident that it will play a pivotal role in helping enhance our reputation for investing in the most effective and modern equipment available. “I would like to give my personal thanks to everyone at Whale and Hydro-Cleansing who have been involved with this vehicle. I am convinced that team at Whale are the only people capable of taking on this project. It is a true testament to the innovation that exists in the UK engineering and manufacturing sectors,” he added. The key features on the KAISERWhale – branded Megatron by Hydro-Cleansing include: ultra high pressure jetting at 1700 Bar/ 25,000 psi, capable of cutting concrete. The Kaiser KDU High Pressure Water pump assembly delivers the recycled water at a flow rate of up to 400 LPM (maximum) and up to 200 bar, via a single stage filtration system which is constantly cleaned by a spraybar, in addition the system has a selectable high pressure cleaning spray bar for when the going gets tough. The vacuum system includes three-pumps for cost effective operating performance, two selectable Kaiser KWP3100i liquid ring pumps each delivering 3000m3/hr (1800cfm) at 85% maximum vacuum, and an additional Mistral 402 series exhauster compressor, piped for vacuum and pressure. Manufactured using high performance carbon steel, which is specified to be the perfect compromise, providing a long life and a reduction in unladen weight. The tank features a four-compartment structure, including a debris/sludge compartment, a sealing water compartment to supply the liquid ring pumps, an overspill tank for protection and a compartment for a clean water jetting option. Controlled by a 28-function radio remote control facility that comes complete with a fail-safe auto shutdown feature should signal loss occur. In additional to the loading valves at the rear there is a fully hydraulic 8” diameter overhead-loading boom. Located at the rear of the vehicle is a hydraulically operated Whale ‘Mega Reel’ that effectively handles 180m of 1 ¼” thermoplastic jetting hose and dual function digital jetting hose meter with programmable digital display and 3 secondary hose reels, one of which handles the ultra high pressure. For working at night the lighting equipment includes state of the art fully controllable telescopic scene lighting towers as well as programmable beacon bars front and rear. So comprehensive is the lighting equipment that it requires an on-board generator. Equally impressive is the top of the range Scania R620 8 x 4 ESZ Topline chassis featuring a very powerful V8 engine, up-rated interior trim and host of LED lights that are located on and around the chassis and cab. The complete unit is finished in Hydro-Cleansing’s colourful, vibrant and highly visible bright “reinorange” livery. Established eleven years ago, privately owned Hydro-Cleansing works with a number of leading utility and service providers across the South and East of the England and has quickly established a reputation for investing in the most effective and modern equipment available within the sewer cleaning and waste management industry. -ENDS- PRESS CONTACT: Paul Watson Wentworth Communications Limited Tel: 0161 973 6763 Fax: 0161 969 6813 Email: paul@wentworthcomms.co.uk
