WHALE SPLASHES DOWN WITH VOLVO AT TRUCKFEST SCOTLAND
Those familiar with Whale Tankers will know that the company is renowned for making a big splash, and this year’s Truckfest Scotland was no exception. Surfacing at the two-day weekend show for the first time, Whale gave visitors to the Volvo Truck & Bus stand at the Ingliston exhibition venue the chance to familiarise themselves with one of its rigid, non-hazardous vacuum tankers. Representing the only new tanker to rank amongst this year’s Truckfest Scotland exhibits, the 3300-gallon capacity twin compartment VacuumWhale was resplendent in livery of Glasgow-based Waste Water Services. And according to Rhona Paterson, Volvo Truck & Bus North and Scotland’s Total Solutions Executive, the Whale/Volvo combination proved a popular talking point at the show. “To many in the industry, Volvo Truck & Bus included, Whale represents the very best when it comes to product quality for specialist vehicles of this type. We were delighted to be able to feature the only tanker of its kind on one of our chassis at this year’s Truckfest – the popular FE 6 x 4 26-tonne GVW chassis with day cab – and we received many favourable comments about the unit and its prominent appearance. It certainly helped Volvo’s truck display stand out from the crowd,” she said. Representing the sixth tanker to join the 100% Whale fleet of Waste Water Services, the company’s latest vacuum tanker features a twin compartment tank, with 2550 gallons dedicated to dirty water and 750 gallons to clean water. The tanker’s vacuum power comes in the form of the proven Mistral 402 series exhauster/compressor. Commenting on the decision to continue specifying Whale, Waste Water Services, Managing Director, Gordon McShannock said: “Not only is the best that money can buy, so too is Whale’s service and support back-up.
