Continuing to align itself with like minded innovative and forward thinking industry players, Whale Tankers of Solihull - a specialist supplier to the waste and cleaning industries - has entered into a strategic partnership with Vogelsang Limited, Europe’s leading manufacturer of rubber lined rotary lobe pumps and in-line macerators. Under the terms of the new agreement, Whale Tankers will now offer its customers Vogelsang’s Rotary Lobe pumps and RotaCut macerators as a standard equipment option on a number of its waste tankers and jetting equipment trailers. Commenting on the new agreement, Whale Tankers’ Commercial Director, Chris Anderson said: “Vogelsang is not only hugely respected within the water and waste treatment industries, they were inventors of this type of technology and remain market leaders. It makes perfect sense, therefore, to be able to offer our operators access to the most advanced positive displacement pump and macerator technology available. Indeed with the wide range of pumps that we have access to we will be able to increase loading times for customers in particular applications.” As Wayne Carrington, Northern Regional Manager of Vogelsang adds: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Whale Tankers. We believe that in addition to offering them access to a high quality and extremely reliable product, our ability to support installations throughout the UK is equally important to them. It is a very good fit for both parties as it sees two market leaders coming together to improve the product offering available to the end customer.” Vogelsang’s Rotary Lobe pump, driven by a hydraulic motor developed to suit the specific end use applications of Whale’s customers, is available in three distinct frame sizes, each of which features the company’s Hi-Flo 100% pulsation-free rotors. Whereas Voglesang’s six wing configuration lobes feature in the smaller VX 100 series, the VX 136 and VX 186 ranges are both based on four-wing lobe technology. WIMES specification compliant, Vogelsang’s Rotary Lobe pump offers a number of distinct advantages over other pump technologies: • The pump, including the hydraulic motor, occupies a comparatively small area, which is particularly important on mobile tanker and trailer applications. • The pump is very easy to service in situ. The release of four bolts gives complete access to the wet end of the pump without the need to remove the connecting pipework. • The pump is largely insensitive to dry running (provided certain basic installation requirements, for connecting pipework, are met). • The pump is fully reversible – allowing uploading and offloading without changing any pipework connections or opening or closing of valves (to redirect the flow). RotaCut In-line Macerator Engineered to reduce solids and protect downstream pumps and equipment from blockages, Vogelsang’s high performance in-line macerator not only has an inbuilt solids separator, it features self tensioning and self-sharpening blades, both of which result in very small final cut sizes. Hydraulically or electrically powered, the RotaCut, complete with its auto reverse facility, is also quick and easy to maintain whilst in situ. -ENDS- PRESS CONTACT: Paul Watson Wentworth Communications Limited Tel: 0161 973 6763 Fax: 0161 969 6813 Email: paul@wentworthcomms.co.uk CAPTION: WHALEPR21.10 – Vogelsang.jpg Whale Tankers will now offer its customers Vogelsang’s Rotary Lobe pumps and RotaCut macerators as a standard equipment option on a number of its waste tankers and jetting equipment trailers.
