The introduction of a Cuppone pizza oven from Linda Lewis Kitchens (LLK) - one of the UK’s leading catering equipment suppliers - has not only helped widen menu options at The Rake Tapas Bar, one of Lancashire’s popular Mediterranean pub restaurants, but in turn has helped increase sales and boost profits.

Specialising in Tapas and Mediterranean cuisine, this family-run tapas bar based in Littleborough, first took installation of the Tiziano pizza oven - one of Cuppone’s best selling models - over seven years ago. As well as serving authentic Italian stone-baked pizzas, the oven is used to cook the entire menu at the Rake Tapas including a variety of dishes including tortillas, Gambas Pil Pil and Spanish omelettes.

Restaurant owner, Mark Wickham explains: “Since purchasing Tiziano, we have seen huge benefits. As well as further extending our Mediterranean options with a vast pizza selection, we have been able to use the oven to cook all our other dishes too, meaning we have once piece of equipment that provides us with all we need.”

Mark continues: “Since introducing pizza to our menu, we have significantly increased sales over time and also widened our customer base to attract more families, particularly those with young children. Also, as pizza is extremely profitable, we have significantly boosted our bottom line too.”

The Cuppone Tiziano electric pizza oven is specifically designed for smaller eateries where space and value for money is at a premium. Time efficient, cost effective and compact in size, this oven produces consistently quality results, with the ability to cook pizzas in 3-6 minutes, as well as a variety of dishes including fish, pies and pasta. Made in Italy, Tiziano’s stone base gives pizza an authentic stone-baked taste and texture, without the significant expense and large size of a wood burning pizza oven. It is available in a wide array of options to suit all budgets and requirements.

Managing Director of LLK, Linda Lewis said: “In the last decade, the UK has seen a huge growth in the popularity of pizza being made available in restaurants and pubs for quick and easy dining. As the pizza industry in the UK now worth £1.85 billion and a predicted further growth of 22% by 2016, it is important that any restaurant or pub has the right equipment to cook their pizza to perfection.”

She added: “There are many product options out there for restaurant owners to consider and the Cuppone Tiziano is an excellent example of an affordable stone based pizza oven that delivers authentic pizzas every time.”

Situated within walking distance of Littleborough centre in Lancashire, The Rake Tapas Bar offers an excellent range of tapas dishes and an ever-changing specials menu. A choice of wines, real ales, draught and bottled beers brewed in the owners’ own Hay Rake Brewery are also available to complement the tapas dishes.
