SALUS EXPANDS RANGE OF WIRELESS HEATING CONTROLS

A new range of electronic radio frequency (RF) wireless heating controls from SALUS has made its successful debut at this year’s Ecobuild. Whilst bearing all the hallmarks of SALUS’ pioneering heating controls with a stylish design and simplicity of installation and operation, two models - ERT20RF and ERT20TX - are unlike ordinary single unit design thermostats. These latest models are a new breed of thermostat that separates the operating functions into two units – receiver and thermostat.

Designed to replace most common residential thermostats and designed for use with electric, gas or oil heating control systems, both ERT20RF and ERT20TX comprise a separate receiver that is used for switching the boiler on and off, together with a thermostat that provides the user interface and temperature sensing control. Whilst a 16 amp receiver comes as standard with the ERT20RF, it may be purchased separately for the ERT20TX; further enabling installers to choose which receiver would best suit the application.

The two separate units are linked together by a Radio Frequency (RF) signal and are able to interact with each other, as the thermostat can automatically detect which receiver it is communicating with; providing a heating control with full RF capabilities.

Both models boast a stylish and accurate dial thermostat that has been specifically designed for use in both Volt Free and AC heating applications. The user-friendly dial is simple to use and features LED indication.

European Managing Director of SALUS Controls, Dean Jepson said: “SALUS is renowned for making life easy for installers, without compromising quality and price. Our latest electronic thermostats bear testimony to this ethos and look set to be a popular choice with installers as demand for RF controls continues to grow.”

The popularity of RF controls continues to increase as installers and homeowners realise the benefits of wireless technology. As well as requiring no external power supply, RF thermostats may be simply wall-mounted in any appropriate temperature sensing location up to 60 metres away from its receiver. Along with ease of installation, these products create little to no mess for the homeowner.

Both the ERT20RF and ERT20TX are available alongside SALUS’ existing range of thermostats that features programmers; electronic, RF, cylinder and frost thermostats, together with a line-up of bypass valves, wiring centres, TRVs and control packs. All products are available via the company’s nationwide network of merchants and distributors.
