SALUS UNVEILS NEW INTERNET THERMOSTAT THAT REQUIRES NO WIRING
Following the successful launch of the revolutionary iT500, SALUS Controls continues to push the boundaries of heating controls and outsmart the competition, with the introduction of an alternative model - the new iT500BM that may be installed without any wiring.
Bearing all the hallmarks of the iT500 and launched in response to customer demand, the internet-enabled thermostat iT500BM not only requires no wiring upon installation, in most cases it does even not require a single tool. Connection to the heating system is simply achieved via SALUS’ combination boiler modules.
Designed to fit into the front of the most popular combination boilers in the UK, the SALUS boiler module simply connects via Radio Frequency (RF) to the remote iT500 thermostat unit and the gateway, which provides internet capability.
Like the iT500, the iT500BM comes without monthly or annual connection fees and is one of the simplest units to connect to the internet for control through a smart phone, PC or tablet. Supporting SALUS’ ethos of simplicity of installation and use, the unit has no fixed IP address and can be easily removed and taken to another location without having to re-register it
European Managing Director, Dean Jepson comments: “The success of the iT500 has overwhelmed the industry and has surpassed all expectations. Never one to rest on our laurels, however, this latest model takes internet enabled controls to new heights.”
Dean adds: “The new iT500BM has been developed in response to demand from the industry to further lead the internet connected section for heating controls. In doing so, we decided to simplify the unit even further by developing the iT500 to connect directly to a combination boiler via a plug in boiler module, hence no wiring. As well as offering speedy, fuss-free installation, this latest thermostat helps installers avoid any regulations required for electrical fitting in a heating system.”
The iT500 features a touch sensitive master control unit that can be positioned anywhere in the home, both table top or wall mounted, to sense the room temperature. Boasting a contemporary slimline design with a unique black LCD, this unit operates in conjunction with an exclusively designed SALUS app that can be downloaded via both iTunes and Android stores. This enables users to take full control of their heating programmes - including holiday and frost modes - by selecting various options via their smartphone or PC to enable the perfect temperature to be set at the required time.
The new iT500 and iT500BM are available alongside SALUS’ existing range of thermostats that features programmers; electronic, RF, cylinder and frost thermostats, together with a line-up of bypass valves, wiring centres, TRVs and control packs. All products are available via the company’s nationwide network of merchants and building associated wholesalers.
