Please note; as this is a charity event for the industry, we ask that colour separation charges be either waivered or better still donated to The British Heart Fondation. We thank you in advance for your support.

Two Business Development Managers from SR Timber - one of the leading manufacturers of specialist timber construction products - have successfully reached the peak of their Mount Kilimanjaro challenge in support of The British Heart Foundation.

In honour of the company’s 10th anniversary, SR Timber’s Richard Stone and Jason Lumley embarked on the expedition on 18th August 2016. After seven days of gruelling trekking, the pair successfully summited Uhuru Peak, 5,895m above sea level; representing a fantastic achievement and all in the name of charity.

The money raised from the challenge will be donated to The British Heart Foundation, the UK’s largest charity fighting heart and circulatory disease, a worthy cause dear to Richard, Jason and the SR Timber team. Setting a target of £5,000, everyone at SR Timber has been determined and passionate to raise funds for this great charity that continues to transform the lives of millions of people.

Commenting on their success, Richard Stone, SR Timber’s very-own Rambo, says: “It was a tough challenge - probably the hardest physical challenge of my life. However, when you take those final steps to the very top of the mountain it makes it all worth it - a view and feeling I’ll never forget; a dream come true for me as a keen trekker. A huge, mountainous thank you to everyone who has donated; you kept us going, but more importantly, the funds raised will change the lives of many!”

Jason Lumley adds: “It was the fear of letting everyone down that spurred me on, there was no way I was going to fail myself, Rich, SR Timber and everyone who has so kindly donated to The British Heart Foundation.”

Trading Director, Shaun Revill, comments: “On behalf of everyone at SR Timber, I would like to thank Richard and Jason for their inspiring determination and effort in conquering this huge challenge, as well as everyone who has already donated and helped raise the vital funds for this great charity. However, with only 89% of SR Timber’s initial goal raised, we still need your support in a final push towards our target. Whatever your donation, it will be appreciated, as every penny counts.”
