WeSpot launches even smaller surveillance camera WeSpot's first surveillance camera has already attracted attention on the market. WeSpot is now launching its new camera, with the Group's ASIC. It is only half the size of its predecessor, yet offers higher performance. With fewer components and a higher level of integration, WeSpot has succeeded in reducing the size of the printed circuit board for the new camera to 52x40 mm. In total, the camera is the size of half a packet of cigarettes. "As far as I am aware, this is the smallest and smartest surveillance camera in the world," says Lars Holmqvist, CEO of WeSpot. The reduced size means that the camera can easily be hidden, e.g. in a wall. It also has the following advantages compared with its predecessor: ·Better light sensitivity, and hence better detection performance. ·Lower power consumption. ·Half-duplex RS485 communication, which means less cabling and lower installation costs. ·Can be manufactured at almost half the cost. ·Better opportunities for development. ·Better and faster interface for dealing with the images from the sensor, which means that more time can be devoted to image processing.
