DALLAS, Texas (Oct. 7, 2011) — ShockWatch, a global leader in developing and manufacturing damage prevention products, has sold its Equipment Monitors product line to TotalTrax Inc., the world-class tracking solutions provider. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. ShockWatch will now focus exclusively on its shipping and handling and cold chain product lines, which deter mishandling, reduce damage and related costs, reveal weak links in the supply chain and ensure customer satisfaction.

“The sale of the ShockWatch Equipment Monitors product line will allow us to concentrate our efforts and resources on our core product offerings — shipping and handling and cold chain monitors,” said Gerard Smith, chairman and CEO of MRI, ShockWatch’s parent company. “Moving forward, we plan to build on our 35 years of experience in damage prevention by expanding our cold chain product line and exploring new applications for monitoring and recording impact in industries such as oil and gas and retail.”

ShockWatch offers a variety of cold chain and impact and tilt indicators, monitors and recorders designed to deliver shipping and handling data at any stage of the product lifecycle — from manufacturing to distribution and usage.

Smith added that the ShockWatch Equipment Monitors line fits well with TotalTrax’s product mix. TotalTrax, the result of a merger between Rush Tracking Systems and Sky-Trax Inc., is now positioned as the leading provider of real-time lift-truck, labor and inventory tracking technologies for manufacturing and warehouse operations. The new company plans to become the world leader in this segment, now that they own the ShockWatch Equipment Monitors.
