Wheatland Tube Introduces Free App That Calculates Savings from 20' EMT
SHARON, Pa. (June 19, 2012) — JMC Steel Group’s Wheatland Tube division has released a free app for Android (2.2+) smartphones, tablet devices, iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. EMT Calc enables electrical contractors to calculate the savings from using 20' EMT instead of standard 10' EMT.
According to David Burnette, vice president sales — electrical division, “This calculator quickly shows the user how much money is saved in materials, taxes and labor when 20' EMT is used instead of 10'. The fact that it can be used on a smartphone allows the contractor to do a real-time savings calculation at the job site.”
For long spans, Wheatland’s 20' EMT takes approximately 20% less time to couple and install compared to 10' EMT, and requires 50% fewer couplings. “Wheatland’s 20' EMT is a smart choice for warehouses, big box retail stores, airports, data centers and other long-run applications,” added Mr. Burnette.
This free calculator app — Wheatland Tube’s first — is easy to download and use. It is available on the Wheatland website, as well as in the App Store and in Google Play as “EMT Calc.”
