A new version BIM-based modelling

WICONA has considerably extended its BIM objects library and the scope of its WIC3D modelling software.

The building industry today is a fast moving and challenging environment. For all those involved in the project, WICONA aims to simplify building project management as much as possible and has considerably extended its BIM objects library: On the BIMobject platform www.bimobject.com all currently available WICONA 3D-BIM objects can be found, by object in REVIT and/or in ArchiCAD format.

Furthermore, WICONA has considerably extended the scope of its WIC3D modelling software and now provides architects, specifiers and fabricators with the possibility of using the software as a BIM configurator.

BIM is a technology that is being used more and more frequently for the digital design of virtual building models. In many countries, BIM is already compulsory in the design of public sector projects and its use is expanding worldwide. The BIM methodology allows all project stakeholders to be able to work collaboratively and to have access to the same product information simultaneously. The data can then be assembled on a single digital model, rather than hundreds of separate illustrations. BIM objects are designed to be displayed in 3D, in order to showcase each products physical and functional characteristic (colour, materials, dimensions etc.). WICONA supports architects, specifiers and fabricators in this new planning method and provides its products as 3D-BIM objects. The comprehensive library of 3D-BIM objects is now available to download in various file formats from www.bimobject.com.

BIM-based designs can be prepared using the WICONA modelling software WIC3D. WIC3D is an intuitive and innovative modelling tool which has been specially designed for architects, specifiers and fabricators to radically reduce the time required for the production of 3D drawings and 3D renders.

The easy-to-use tool enables architects, specifiers and fabricators to sketch out initial design concepts and ideas (also polygon-shaped and eaves designs), quickly and effectively, and incorporate WICONA’s highly engineered WICTEC curtain walling, WICLINE window, WICSTYLE door and WICSOLAIRE solar shading systems.

WIC3D can produce true-to-scale drawings, whilst improving accuracy and saving time. The façade designs can be viewed both internally and externally allowing proportions, configurations and options to be assessed and developed.

Second major advantage: The modelling tool is designed to interface with widely-used CAD systems so users can import and export 3D design drawings. WICONA façades designed with WIC3D can be exported now in IFC format as 3D-BIM objects for use with REVIT or Archicad.

WIC3D is the perfect tool for designing 3D-BIM objects – with direct IFC export.
