Staff at Williams Refrigeration raise money for Lynn charity Reach for a Star
The Great Williams Bake-Off
Staff at King’s Lynn-based Williams Refrigeration cooked up a storm with their very own Bake-Off on 10th December 2012, raising more than £200 for the newly-registered King’s Lynn charity, Reach for a Star.
Reach for a Star is committed to helping children and their families fight life-threatening conditions with dignity, comfort and support. The charity is close to the hearts of the Williams Refrigeration team, as co-founder Claire Moore works for the company. Claire and husband Stuart co-founded Reach for a Star after their daughter Olivia, six, was diagnosed with a rare brain tumour, called a pilocytic astrocytoma.
The event at Williams Refrigeration’s site saw great support from its staff with over 30 of them baking an abundance of cakes. Funds were raised by raffling the cakes, as well as through a ‘Guess the weight of the cake’ competition. Prizes included copies of ‘How to Bake’, signed by Paul Hollywood. Further signed copies of the Paul Hollywood book are to be auctioned to the general public to raise more money for ‘Reach for a Star’. To make a bid call Sam Butters at Williams on 01553 817000.
