Wilson Logistics Group secures Class 1 licence in China The Wilson Logistics Group is one of the first international logistics providers to be awarded a Class 1 licence for International Freight Forwarding in Shanghai, China. The licence was approved on June 11 by MOFCOM (the Ministry Of Commerce) as part of the Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA), between the governments in the Special Administrative Region, SAR, Hong Kong, and the People's Republic of China, PRC. The granting of the licence means that Wilson has full legal status to own 100% of the new company Wilson Freight (Shanghai) Ltd. "The licence is an important breakthrough for us in China as we will now have full control over the development of our operations. It will further improve our competitiveness in China and the Asia Pacific region," says Håkan Andersson, Wilson Logistics Group Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific. "It is also very good news for all our customers as we will be able to provide the market with a range of services under our exclusive control and supervised entirely by Wilson staff," he adds. With the International Freight Forwarder Licence secured Wilson will be able to supply the market directly, without subcontractors. Services include seafreight, airfreight, road transport, warehousing, transhipment, consolidated cargo, customs clearance, commercial inspections, insurance and transportation consultation. "We have worked long and hard to win this licence. It is a major step forward as we need full ownership of the company to control and develop our business further. We are now planning for similar developments in other parts of China and expect a positive outcome in line with rules and regulations for the expansion of branch offices across China," says Henrik von Sydow, CEO of the Wilson Logistics Group.
