At last week's Roskilde Festival, music service WiMP and 4Sound hosted a recording studio with record breaking time to market. In just two hours, artists recorded, mixed and published their songs, ready for streaming in WiMP. Live recordings by Danish charts #1 Marie Key, Schultz & Forever and Ice Cream Cathedral are among several already live in WiMP.

At the Roskilde Festival area, WiMP ran its Live Session series with renowned and upcoming Scandinavian bands, while also offering its facilities to unsigned bands, through the new WiMP DIY service.

"This is an excellent way of combining three of our competitive strengths as a music service, WiMP Live, WiMP DIY and our speed to market, we always aim to be first with the news. To also do it live at the festival area of Roskilde Festival is an added bonus, where of course our editorial team covers what happens on the Orange Stage as well as the WiMP-studio", said Kjartan Slette, Head of Music at WiMP.

First out in the Live Session at Roskilde Festival was upcoming 18-year old Danish starlet Schultz & Forever and on Saturday, pop singer and charts top Marie Key visited the studio. Ice Cream Cathedral was among the unsigned bands who entered a professional studio for the first time at Roskilde Festival, and who could party at the festival site to their own new single Cornucopia in WiMP only two hours later.

WiMP DIY is WiMP's offer for unsigned artists, who can get their recordings on WiMP and other services without any upfront fees. Distribution runs through Phonofile.
