On Saturday, both WiMP in Denmark and Music Box in Portugal climbed to the top spot in iTunes App Store.

Unlimited access to millions of songs any time on any device has quickly become the music subscription service of choice, and Aspiro is fast turning into a leading player in this exciting growth market.

Per Einar Dybvik, managing director at Aspiro Music, explains “Our focus on being best on local music, first with new releases and the easiest service to use, coupled with our ability to both deliver branded products as well as fully white-labelled solutions to mobile operators and ISPs is paying dividends. Reaching number one spot in the App Store in two countries on the same day is very encouraging for Aspiro and the music streaming business.”

WiMP is Aspiro Music’s own music service, which is live in Norway and Denmark in collaboration with Telenor. Music Box is the brand of Portugal Telecom’s TMN, Sapo and Meo channels, and is a white-labelled solution delivered by Aspiro.
