Music Service WiMP has expanded its partnership with music festival and conference by:Larm in Oslo, Norway and signed up as main partner. This means, among other things, that the festival's main tent will be the WiMP-tent, where the new partners are now planning several activities. WiMP will also take part at the new initative by:Larm Tech and in addition continue the title sponsorship of the Nordic Music Prize, previously awarded to Jónsi and Goran Kajfes.

"by:Larm has become the place where artists and music lovers gather to celebrate and develop the Nordic music scene. For WiMP it's therefore a natural arena to attend. For all of the editorial staff, we're looking forward to enrich the program further through exciting activities in the new WiMP-tent", says Thor Martin Jensen, Global Head of Editorial at WiMP.

In addition to activities inside the WiMP-tent in Oslo, WiMP will also present by:Larm and Nordic Music Prize directly to all its users, who can already find by:Larm artists for instance through www.wimp.no/bylarm.

WiMP will also take part at the new by:Larm Tech, where music lovers will get a taste of what's happening in WiMP ahead. Artists, management and others in the industry will also be able to learn more about how to succeed in WIMP, in a separate part in the conference program. There's also plans for a larger industry debate and workshop in collaboration with a number of players.

"For by:Larm, it is very gratifying to get WiMP as main partner. They are a company with strong Nordic focus, and will help by:Larm to gain further attention in the other Nordic countries. WiMP is for us a perfect partner to sponsor the Nordic Music Prize and to present the WiMP-tent - the biggest stage we have at by:Larm", says Peter Eikeland, sponsor responsible at by:Larm.

Last year WiMP also sponsored the Nordic Music Prize, a music price honoring the album format, that could quickly become one of the most important music prizes in the Nordic countries. The first two years' winners were Jónsi and Goran Kajfes. This year's nominees, check out www.nordicmusicprize.com.

WiMP has licensed over 18 million tracks and has about 350,000 paying users in all countries. The service is available in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Poland and the Netherlands under a different brand.
