WiMP presents ‘Legends’ - curated global editorial campaign

All through April, music streaming service WiMP highlights the great legends of modern music history. 28 artists, selected by WiMP editors will be presented with daily playlists across all WiMP countries. Featured artists include Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Queen, Michael Jackson and Muddy Waters, all available for streaming.

Music streaming service WiMP differentiates through its editorial profile with local editors in each market, always aiming to inspire users to discover new music and old favorites. Last month, adding to the local flavor, WiMP also introduced curated global campaigns, showcasing more of all the great music among the millions of tracks. The last campaign called ‘NewSound’, presented new and upcoming, local artists in each market. Now, it’s time for the ‘Legends’ of music history.

”In WiMP we always work to curate the millions of tracks and with ‘Legends’ we want to guide people through the history of music. We focus on huge, established artists that in one way or another have influenced a specific genre, or even made a huge impact on modern music history. Everyone can relate to the artists we’ll present and some might also be surprised that complete catalogues are available for streaming,” commented Sveinung Rindal, Head of Global Editorial Campaigns at WiMP.

‘Legends’ hits off today with the King himself Elvis, on the same day as ‘Elvis is back’ was released in 1960. The days the artists will be presented in WiMP are not random, but coupled with fun facts and trivia of related happenings. Tomorrow’s Legend Billie Holiday would have been 98 years old yesterday and on Sunday, Iron Maiden will be presented, on the same day as their self-titled debut album was released.

Music streaming service WiMP is currently available in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Poland and all countries will feature ‘Legends’ throughout April and into May. Users can look forward to daily playlists, contest, artists and other music personalities presenting their legend, theme based playlists such as Legendary singer-songwriters or Legendary electronic music etc.
