Accredited Supplier scheme will make it easier for buyers to make the best choice

The Carbon Trust has invited Winterhalter to join its ‘Accredited Supplier’ scheme and be included in the Green Directory. Winterhalter is the first specialist catering equipment manufacturer to become an Accredited Supplier.

The scheme not only recognises a company’s green credentials, but also its expertise and customer service. Winterhalter is one of the leading suppliers of warewash equipment and ancillary products, such as water treatment and chemicals, to the foodservice market. The Carbon Trust noted its IRT (intelligent resource technology) programme, which is designed to minimise its machines’ use of energy, water and chemicals, as well as the company’s comprehensive customer support, including service, advice and training.

In the course of the accreditation process the Carbon Trust interviewed key Winterhalter personnel, assessed the company’s energy management systems and reviewed a number of case studies. As part of due diligence, the Trust gathered independent customer feedback.

Following the successful completion of the accreditation scheme, Winterhalter will be listed in the Carbon Trust Green Directory as a recommended supplier of energy efficient systems.

“Winterhalter met the criteria set by the Carbon Trust to be accredited for delivering high quality, energy efficient catering equipment systems,” said a Carbon Trust spokesperson.

“We pride ourselves on the efficiency of our warewashing solutions,” said Paul Crowley, Winterhalter’s Marketing Development Manager. “Being accredited by the Carbon Trust underlines our credibility.

“This is a crowded market place, and some manufacturers’ claims and counter claims can be very confusing for buyers. We expect more foodservice equipment companies to join the Carbon Trust’s programme: it is designed to make it easy to find independently validated, quality suppliers of efficient equipment and services.”

Winterhalter’s most recent launch is the ClimatePlus PT passthrough warewasher. This remarkable product not only slashes energy consumption by over 50%, but also pumps cool air into the kitchen, should the ambient temperature rise above 25°C. All this while delivering class-leading cleaning results.
