Wirepas White Paper: Managing assets through de-centralized IoT networks
Wirepas has today disclosed a white paper on the benefits and new opportunities of using decentralized, or mesh, networks for asset management. The white paper introduces the business and technical requirements for data in various asset management application areas, such as warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, construction and mining. The collected data can be serialized ID based count, location and sensor data. The basic customer needs for the system have been matched with Wirepas Connectivity features. The covered use cases for the application areas, goods-in and goods-out, inventory, picking, location data, sensor data and people count and location data, are all commonly known challenge areas for process improvement.
The white paper introduces key elements of the Wirepas Connectivity and the positioning for location data that emphasizes the good fit the technology has in the use cases and application areas. The ease of installation and use, low cost and other benefits are clear and coherently presented.
“The technology is proven, well tested and piloted in real life environments. Together with industry leading partners, Wirepas aims to offer its customers means to collect asset data easily and efficiently", Wirepas CEO Teppo Hemiä summarizes.
“It is easy to see where our technology could cost efficiently fill in the gaps as an alternative approach to existing solutions and enable new use cases in the asset management domain. I am very excited about the possibilities of our location capabilities inherent in Wirepas Connectivity, which requires no additional investment or replacement of radio infrastructure. Also, the connectivity itself opens tremendous opportunities in warehouse management, logistics, manufacturing and people count and locating”, says Mirva Saarijärvi, Wirepas Product Marketing Director for asset management.
Wirepas Connectivity is easily installed in any of the above-mentioned environments to enable data collection for reports that decision makers can use to gain faster and more accurate business insights and improve process efficiency where physical assets must be accounted for.
Wirepas will be exhibiting at the Hannover Messe, booth D10 (hall 16). For pre-arranged meetings, please contact rudolf.stokar(at)wirepas.com.
