They are speaking at Women in Tech Sweden March 23rd
- The Nordics' largest technology conference for women is hosted at Stockholm Waterfront
With a world-class ensemble of speakers and a theme that is highly relevant for the times we are living in, Women in Tech Sweden opens up the doors to the conference on March 23rd for the tenth time, since the start back in 2014.
The times we are living in may be challenging, but with that also comes enormous opportunities for the tech industry to pave the way forward towards a brighter future. This year's #WITswe2023 will highlight broad issues such as energy, cybersecurity, AI and leadership. The theme, Charged and Ready to Raise, comes from charging the batteries and gathering strength to find new ways forward together.
What started as an event on International Women's Day 2014 has grown into a community, platform, and movement over the years. It’s crucial to highlight opportunities and a great variety of people, roles and stories from the tech world and give people context. The importance and need of network and role models doesn’t go unnoticed, and perhaps after a few rough years facing pandemic and other crises we need to feel more inspired again and yearn for change.
It’s therefore, with pride, that Women in Tech Sweden, presents this year’s keynote speakers:
Dr. Angel Durr Researcher, Consultant, and Professor
Dr. Angel Durr obtained her Ph.D. in Information Systems from the University of North Texas in 2018 at the age of 31 years old. Angel is a mother of one and the owner of DataReady DFW, a nonprofit organization focused on using strategic data, AI, and RPA tech to serve the needs of marginalized populations. In addition to working as a speaker and consultant, Dr. Durr currently serves as a Lecturer in the University of Nevada Analytics Online MBA Program.
Dr. Durr is a disabled first-generation college student and an Afro-Latina. No stranger to hard work, she has raised most of her siblings while earning her advanced education due to her mother's frequent incarcerations and subsequent murder. Dr. Durr discussed this topic in further detail in her first TedxTalk last Fall.
In addition to discussing the overlap between Cybercrime and Data, Dr. Durr is currently using her personal experiences to conduct research focused on Entrepreneurship and Leadership opportunities for the Neurodiverse and Autistic populations.
Mats Persson Sweden’s Minister of Education
Mats Persson holds a PhD in economic history at Lund University. Mats has been the Liberals' economic policy spokesperson and member of parliament since 2014, in both the finance and education committees. Since autumn 2022, he is Sweden's Minister of Education (L) with responsibility for higher education, research and space.
Atefeh Sebdani Public Speaker and Moderator
Atefeh started her career as a Microsoft trainee and have since held various positions within Cloud Business, Digital Transformation, Business Development and Innovation. Her career includes many successful projects; as a salesperson she closed million dollar deals and as an innovative leader she worked with great transformational projects. Due to her passion for an equal society she is active in steering boards and has been named a future leader as well as awarded for her stage talks. While working as Nordic Leader for Capgemini book publishers headhunted her as they had read her texts on her Instagram account @atefeh_sebdani . Therefore she has a pause from tech to pursue a dream, publishing her debut book this summer. A project she combines with being a speaker and moderator.
Tove Noorjahaan Dalenius Artist, Researcher and Lecturer
Tove is a practising artist undertaking academic research focusing on full-parallax digital holography. Using a Practice-Based Research methodology she carries out transdisciplinary exploration at the intersection of art, technology, and science. Tove applies Direct-write digital holography (DWDH) as an artistic medium in interplay with scientific visualization, and publishes technical and artistic contributions in the field. Her latest artwork 'Emergence' is a hologram showing the full and significant extent of the clitoris within a body for the very first time.
Emergence will be exhibited for the first time in Sweden during #WITswe2023.

“I’m so proud of our line up and program this year, it’s going to be amazing. We still have a lot of work to do, and our mission is just as important now as it was back at the beginning in 2014, which really shows when you look at the amazing speakers this year. Leaders and change makers such as Atefeh Sebdani, Mats Persson and Dr Angel Durr are joining us, which we are very happy about. I can promise a very varied program with a lot of different angles, but more importantly how we can all come together and personify this year’s theme. We are charged and ready to raise!,” says Elin Eriksson, Director of Women in Tech Sweden.

Women in Tech began as an event on International Women's Day in 2014. Since then, Women in Tech has grown into a community, a platform, and a movement. The goal of Women in Tech is to inspire women to choose a career in media and technology - and to keep those already in the industry - by providing networks, role models and experience from successful people from both the corporate and entrepreneurial worlds. This is done, among other things, through an annual conference, and other networking and lecture events. Women in Tech Sweden is run as a non-profit association.
