The greatest group you never wanted to join!

Plans are quickly unfolding for the Second Annual National Women’s Survivors Convention. This one-of-a-kind event designed to honor and inspire cancer survivors will take place Thursday, July 31 - Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

In 2013, survivors and supporters from 49 states and 5 countries came together for the inaugural event created by the Women Survivors Alliance. Convention participants displayed ribbons representing 27 different cancers, while gathering information from 112 cancer organizations and a bunch of new friends.

“I found a home and I didn’t even know I needed one,” said survivor Susan Jett. “I became energized and proud to be part of this community of women.” Another attendee proclaimed, “I learned more about survivorship in 2 1/2 days than I have in the last 7 years.”

Today there are more than 7 million women cancer survivors in the United States and while our primary mission is to bolster and redefine their lives we know that cancer is a game changer for everyone involved. In 2014 we’re encouraging survivors to bring their spouses, children, BFFs and caregivers. The three day event will feature a co-survivor track, a men's only track, a young adult survivor’s track, sponsored by Stupid Cancer, and a breast cancer only track.

“Once the treatments are done and the doctors set you free, you’re suddenly alone with a new normal,” said Karen Shayne, survivor and co-founder of the Women Survivors Alliance. “We want to help get these survivors get back on track. Back to living a high quality life armed with new tools for the new obstacles and questions ahead.”

Also for 2014, participants can expect more celebrities, cutting edge researchers, cancer-based organizations, networking opportunities, the Celebrate Survivors 5k and the opportunity for a night out downtown. Returning favorites include the Survivors Marketplace Expo, makeovers, Red Carpet Live Pajama Party, and we’ll wrap it all up with a HUGE announcement for 2015!

Space is limited, so reserve your spot at www.SurvivorsConvention.com and like us on Facebook www.facebook.com/SurvivorsConvention to get the exciting announcements ahead!
