Win, win, win, win, second.

Win, win, win, win, second.
Three-time FIA World Champion Petter Solberg enjoyed a near-perfect weekend at World RX of Great Britain – the Norwegian superstar was fastest all the way to the final, where he finished second.
The PSRX team arrived at Lydden Hill after a week of intensive work on Solberg’s Supercar, with improvements to the engine and suspension. The defending FIA World Rallycross Champion was delighted with the fruits of his team’s labours and paid them back with five straight race wins through Saturday and Sunday.
The final was, however, the win that got away…
“I tried so hard,” said Solberg, “what an incredible weekend! First I want to say thank you to the team. Last time we raced with [Mattias] Ekstrom, I have to admit I was a little bit worried. He definitely had more pace than us at that race. When we finished in Belgium, we sat down and looked at what we could do for England and the guys got on with it.
“You could see the result here. We were fastest for the whole weekend, winning all of the races on the way to the final. The car was fantastic, we have more power and the suspension is incredible. We were really back against the Audis this weekend and that’s thanks to the hard work from the team.
“Winning the races is always really nice early in the weekend, but at the end it comes down to the final – that’s the race we all want to win.
“Before the start, I knew it would be quite tough for us. The tyres were quite near the limit and, in the end, I ran out of grip. The joker lap went really well, it was very, very quick, but when it came to the fight with him, I just couldn’t get the power down. Coming out of the right-hander, the car was moving too much. It was so frustrating, I could almost reach out and touch his car, but it just wasn’t possible to get past him.
“Hey, look, we take the positives. It’s five points, that’s the difference. Maybe the tyre strategy we ran wasn’t exactly perfect, but the big news for me from here is that we are back. The car is working again, we found more speed and now it’s time to win again.
“Another big positive from this weekend is launching the fan club. You all know how much my fans mean to me, which is why I want to give something back. I love the passion the people have for this sport, it’s the same as me, they are the same as me – they live for what we do. Now I want them to join the family.”

But when Petter and PSRX start World RX of Norway, it could be World RX of anywhere; the aim and the objective are exactly the same: win, championship lead. So, see you in Hell.
