For ten years Jönköping has been one of the world’s absolute best meeting places for the bioenergy industry’s important players. At the beginning of June it will be time for World Bioenergy 2014. You are welcome to accredit yourself!
World Bioenergy is an attractive and exclusive business venue for suppliers, manufacturers and purchasers of bioenergy products, equipment and services. But World Bioenergy is also a unique meeting place with its combination of business deals and knowledge – a busy trade fair paired with a rich conference programme, excursions and B2B matchmaking.
For three intensive days, experts and environmental stakeholders gather for exciting and stimulating seminars and workshops, all held in English. “Taking You from Know-How to Show-How” is the slogan that describes what this event is all about – here theory and science are transformed into practical action and technological operation. World Bioenergy is expertise plus problem solving in an active form, complemented with daily study visits that present the bigger picture behind the words and ideas.

You are welcome to accredit yourself. As an accredited journalist you have free admission to the trade fair. You can also participate at no cost in all the seminars and study visits if you register as a conference participant on our website (dinner is not included). NB: please tick the space to indicate that you are a member of the press! Note that you must register for the conferences in order to be guaranteed a place.
The last accreditation date is 27 May, so we recommend that you accredit yourself and book your accommodation as soon as possible. At the same time as you accredit yourself, you can state your required accommodation dates via the online accreditation form. A number of hotel rooms are reserved for members of the press who request accommodation at the latest by 14 April.

World Bioenergy 2014 – the right climate for business and knowledge
World Bioenergy is a unique event that for the past ten years has continually attracted exhibitors and conference participants from around the world. On 3 to 5 June all the important players in the bioenergy space – the leading suppliers, experts, researchers and decision makers – will once again gather to get updated about the latest products and technology, to do business, and to take bioenergy to new heights.
World Bioenergy has been jointly organised by Elmia AB and Svebio since 2004. It is truly a successful concept with its exciting breadth and quality, its mixture of theory and practice, and its function as a meeting place for business deals and stimulating encounters.
“A number of our conference sessions are in workshop format, which is new this year,” explains Klas Brandt, Business Manager, Elmia AB. “By bringing together skilled and expert individuals in the bioenergy field, we create a focus on active participation and achieving solutions to problems. The complementary study visits add even more of a hands-on experience, as expressed by our slogan ‘Taking You from Know-How to Show-How’.”
Opening speech with a climate focus
One of the inaugural speakers at World Bioenergy 2014 is Professor Jean-Pascal van Ypersele, Vice Chairman of the UN’s climate panel IPCC. Professor van Ypersele is a leading authority on climate research and a fantastic speaker in the field. Another speaker is Mr Stefan Löfven, the leader of Sweden’s Social Democratic party and challenger in the upcoming national elections for the post of Sweden’s prime minister. He will speak about his vision of a Swedish and European climate policy based on renewable resources. His Royal Highness Prince Carl Philip, Patron of World Bioenergy, will attend the opening ceremony of World Bioenergy.
A trade fair for tomorrow’s improvers
The exhibitors at World Bioenergy are world-leading manufacturers, suppliers and subcontractors of products, technology and services to the entire bioenergy sector. Come and see the latest products and innovations and discover new methods, logistics and technology. The large exhibition hall is directly adjacent to our outdoor area where you can watch machines and technology in operation.
World Biorefinery – energy from the forest industry
SPCI, the association of Swedish paper and cellulose engineers, has its own conference theme at World Bioenergy focusing on new technology plus financial solutions for the pulp and paper industry.
The biorefining industry represented at World Biorefinery offers new opportunities for a forest industry that is experiencing great change.
“We believe it is a new and exciting field which is developing more and more in the forest industry,” says SPCI CEO Marina Asp.
Matchmaking – winning deals via pre-booked meetings
Another example of environmentally smart and effective meetings at World Bioenergy is the unique matchmaking service organised by Enterprise Europe Network in Jönköping. For two intensive days, visitors to World Bioenergy meet at short pre-arranged meetings to focus on new opportunities for mutual business development. These sessions facilitate ideas, business deals and networking for a shared sustainable future.
World Bioenergy Award – a winner for the world
The World Bioenergy Award honours an individual who has achieved something very special in the bioenergy sector. Which of this year’s nominees will get the award will be revealed when World Bioenergy 2014 is inaugurated on 3 June. Then you will also hear more about the winner’s unique project in the form of a personal lecture by the winner immediately following the award ceremony.
