Children in disadvantaged neighborhoods will soon be able to play like the pros on new state-of-the-art basketball courts. The Manifest Foundation, in partnership with the Nancy Lieberman Foundation and Sport Court®, is currently developing a series of “DreamCourts” to be installed initially in the Dallas/Fort Worth area before expanding nationally and eventually, worldwide. The ribbon cutting for the first DreamCourt will occur on Wednesday, August 18, 2010. Ribbon cutting and dedication will be at Bi-Centennial Park in Frisco at 6 p.m.  In partnership with the City of Frisco, TX basketball legend Nancy Lieberman, one of the greatest figures in women’s basketball, will be joined by Jason Terry, the 6’ 2’ guard of the Dallas Mavericks, along with Frisco Mayor, Maher Maso.

The Manifest Foundation is a philanthropic, non-profit foundation created by WorldVentures, which is dedicated to creating lasting, positive change in the world by impacting the lives of children. The foundation supports organizations who specifically aid children throughout the world, by helping create strong foundations for health, education, and mentorship, as well as contributing to the financial support which is so desperately needed. www.manifestfoundation.org

The DreamCourts project is a public outreach program that will provide permanent, modular basketball courts in areas which have limited resources to support the construction of new recreational facilities. The project’s goal is to create a destination for children who currently have no outlet for sports or after-school activities.

Hall of Famer, US Olympic Medal Winner, broadcaster, writer, motivational speaker and coach, Nancy Lieberman also created a philanthropic  foundation to help children and teens learn important life values through sports, and particularly through her favorite sport—basketball.  The Foundation’s mission is to provide a healthy physical, emotional and mental environment for young girls and boys to build their self-esteem and confidence so they will be able to make responsible choices in the future. www.nancylieberman.com/foundation

Sport Court’s basketball courts create colorful, durable outdoor surfaces that deliver superior traction, performance and safety. The base of these courts is a modular sports floor that is durable, attractive and safe for active athletes of all ages. The modular flooring systems provide a safe, high-performance surface that reduces shock, delivers excellent traction and ball response.

The partnered foundations share the vision of helping children in need, and the DreamCourts project is a manifestation of that vision. The main objective of the DreamCourts project is to promote an active and healthy lifestyle, offer a safe place for children to play and interact socially, and encourage lessons in teamwork and good sportsmanship.
