Press release 30 November 2016

Wrapp, a company behind an app a consumer can connect to their payment card to be rewarded for their shopping, announces 6 new bank partners: Nordea Finland, Danske Bank, Länsförsäkringar, Aktia, Collector Bank and the lunch card Sodexo, at the startup event Slush in Helsinki.

The company has been active in Sweden since last November with Nordea as a partner and has increased its popularity steadily during this time: at the moment Wrapp has 120 000 registered users and 200 different brands as retail partners. Now Wrapp takes a major leap forward by announcing the co-operations; this means almost 40% of the card users in both Sweden and Finland will be able to link their cards to Wrapp in the future.

 - It’s amazing to see how the data of our users works for them and how I as a user can be noticed for what I buy. It feels great to get a personalised reward right after the purchase, almost so fast that the card is still in the terminal. Within the last year the interest towards our app in Sweden has grown substantially and it is very exciting to launch new bank partners. This means more consumers will get a chance to enjoy Wrapp and what “My data working for the benefit of me” really means, says Aage Reerslev, CEO of Wrapp.

Wrapp’s ambition is to be “cross-bank”, in other words offer a partnership to all banks and also be “cross-boarder”, so that the users can enjoy offers everywhere no matter the bank or the country. Finland will be the next market where consumers can start using Wrapp and there are two banks whose customers can connect their cards from the beginning: Nordea and Aktia.

 - It feels great to go to Finland as the next country after the year on the Swedish market. Finland is an innovative country and is constantly at the forefront, which suits us as a tech company. It pleases  also our retail partners who now can get considerably higher amounts of customers with personalised rewards and offers in both Sweden and Finland, says Aage.

The app that rewards you for your shopping

Wrapp is a free reward app to which the user connects their payment card and which automatically gives personalised offers, rewards and cashbacks based on what, where and how often the user shops.

A shopping experience with Wrapp is designed to be as simple and fun as possible for the user; your payment card becomes smarter with Wrapp. No coupons, no irrelevant offers; it’s all about the individual. Wrapp represents the new era of retailing, where brands give personalised rewards and offers to the consumer based on their shopping behaviour. We want our user to feel important no matter where they shop, just as it should be, comments Fredrick Tallroth, Head of Product at Wrapp.
