Appointment of new Group HR Director
International multi-disciplinary consultancy WYG is pleased to announce the appointment of Karen Brookes as Group HR Director with effect from 1 November.
Karen’s initial focus will be to enhance talent development, recruitment and retention processes throughout the Group, and she will work closely with the business to ensure the successful execution of the Group's growth initiatives.
Karen joins award winning consultancy WYG, from the Government Procurement Service (GPS), an Executive Agency of the Cabinet Office, where she was responsible for leading on the people strategy and operational delivery of HR, learning, organisation and capability development, resourcing and engagement teams.
Prior to joining GPS, Karen worked for AMEC within the power and process division who, at the time, had just acquired National Nuclear Corporation (NNC). Her role involved the TUPE transfer of 1200 people to AMEC from NNC and the integration of two other existing AMEC nuclear businesses. Karen also brings a wealth of international HR experience gained from her previous roles at AMEC, Yell and Asda.
A keen marathon runner and currently in training for her first triathlon, Karen is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (FCIPD) and has an MBA from The Open University.
Karen said: “I’m delighted to be joining WYG and am looking forward to working with its management and employees at all levels to help create a collaborative environment in which the business and the individuals in it can grow.”
Paul Hamer, WYG Chief Executive, said: “Karen joins WYG at an exciting time as we look to nurture our existing talent pool and recruit new business winners and team leaders. I look forward to working closely with her on HR and growth initiatives.”
