Press Release
10 December 2012

Paul Grover, Regional Director based in WYG’s Liverpool office, has been invited to represent the UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) as one of its regional Export Champions 2013.

The international multidisciplinary consultancy WYG will join around 30 exemplar businesses in the North West with a proven track record in international trade.

For WYG the year-long initiative presents powerful networking, speaking and wider PR opportunities involving Ministers, VIPs and other movers and shakers, allowing the business to demonstrate its significant expertise and experience in the international arena.

The objective is to inspire and mentor businesses in the region who are new to exporting which will of course benefit both the regional and national economies.

WYG is a market leading consultant to the EU and one of the top 15 consultancies in Europe. With around 40% of revenues derived internationally, WYG delivers some of the most sophisticated projects to national governments and regional authorities in its chosen sectors which include: Defence & Justice; Energy & Waste; Urban & Commercial Development; Environment; Transport; Mining & Metals and Social Development & Infrastructure. The business works with major organisations such as EuropeAid, the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID), the European Bank for Reconstruction & Development, and the EU and World Banks.

With the objective of achieving sustainable growth through higher quality revenues, WYG has developed a Global Integrated Strategy under which the company seeks to establish and develop key strategic partnerships to deliver projects and services by integrating its expert teams from across the Group with local partners to deliver local services for global clients.

WYG Chief Executive Officer, Paul Hamer says the export market represents a great opportunity for UK businesses: “WYG is targeting to grow international revenue to 50% of total sales, and we believe the UKTI’s Export Champions initiative is a valuable tool for UK companies considering venturing into the international marketplace”.
