East-West Seed Philippines, a tropical vegetable seed provider in South East Asia and Wyld Networks, today announced a partnership to bring remote sensor connectivity to the South East Asia seed production market.

East-West Seed Philippines provide innovative tropical vegetable seed products that help grow better crops and realise higher yields. Their extensive knowledge and understanding of the data requirements of vegetable farming in the region and Wyld’s satellite connected Internet of Things (IoT) solutions will enable granular data capture to improve sustainable production for research and farm environments.

85% of the globe has no cellular coverage posing a significant challenge for the sector as it looks to take advantage of the IoT. Wyld solves this challenge with 100% coverage for low power devices.

Increases in agricultural productivity will rely heavily on quality data collected from sensors in the field. From soil moisture to weather stations, from nutrients to pollination management, data is the key to improved yields and sustainability. Fundamental to gathering this data is the need for low power, always available connectivity.

Wyld’s sensor-to-satellite solutions deliver truly affordable, universal access to a significant section of the world population that does not currently have the connectivity they need to benefit from Industry 4.0. The aim is a true democratization of the IoT.

“We are delighted to be working with Wyld Networks to capture critical data from vegetable farming anywhere in Southeast Asia. Wyld’s Satellite IoT solution makes this possible and will drive new markets for East-West Seed Philippines,” said Hoti Cristobal E. Picpican of East-West Seeds.

“Wyld Networks are excited to be partnering with East-West Seed Philippines who have an exceptional knowledge of vegetable farming in the tropics. Wyld will deliver critical data in line with our strategy to provide low power satellite IoT in the region,” said Alastair Williamson, Wyld Networks CEO.

Wyld Connect, sensor to satellite IoT is developed by Wyld Networks.
