GSP and Wyld Networks announce partnership to pilot satellite IoT solutions

Wyld Networks today announce a partnership with GSP, a pioneer in providing satellite communications, to pilot the Wyld solution enabling remote sensor connectivity within Peru’s water monitoring IoT infrastructure.

Water utility companies collect data from IoT sensors within their infrastructure to ensure and improve operational efficiencies, reduce equipment downtime and predict preventative maintenance. However, in areas where there is no cellular coverage, gathering this data involves either building expensive terrestrial networks or having to make costly site visits.

Wyld’s satellite IoT offering provides a low-cost solution to collect this data in hard-to-reach areas.

The solution aims to connect sensors measuring water levels, pressure and flows in rural water assets. Better data leads to better management of resources and assets and helps meet environmental and sustainability targets.

Wyld Networks and GSP will pilot Wyld Connect to evaluate the solution to collect sensor data from multiple remote infrastructure assets in areas where there is no available cellular connectivity.

Wyld Connect is a sensor to satellite IoT technology developed by Wyld Networks as a cost-effective solution to connect IoT devices to the internet for the 85% of the worlds surface where there is no cellular coverage.

Wyld’s pioneering satellite IoT connectivity solutions are the missing link for meeting Peru’s challenging IoT needs,” says Gabriel Hildebrandt, CEO of GSP. “We are looking forward to our partnership with Wyld Networks to development and deploy solutions across multiple verticals starting with water management.”

Satellite connected IoT is rapidly becoming essential for companies looking to deliver efficiency and sustainability in remote and challenging environments,” said Alastair Williamson, CEO of Wyld Networks. “We are delighted to be working on this new project with one of Peru’s leading satellite and IoT specialists to capture data from previously difficult to reach and poorly connected areas. We look forward to building a successful ongoing commercial partnership with a great team.”
