IMAE and Wyld Networks sign contract to deploy satellite IoT solution for wind turbines in Brazil
Wyld Networks today announce a partnership with IMAE to deploy its Wyld IoT sensor-to-satellite technology with IMAE’s wind turbine technology in the utility sector in Brazil. IMAE will pilot Wyld’s solution and sign a commercial agreement.
IMAE is a Brazilian company, based in Sao Paolo, that have developed a wind turbine technology for micro generation, for deployment in for example in remote locations. They have been contracted to supply electricity to 3000 locations in Brazil using this technology. Wyld Connect will enable data collection and control for all these wind turbines in locations where there is no terrestrial connectivity.
In 2019, Brazil occupied seventh place in the global ranking of the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) with 19GW of installed capacity and wind is currently the second-largest source of energy in the country, accounting for 10% of the electricity production. The Brazilian Association of Wind Energy (ABEEólica) expects the country to have at least 30 GW of installed wind energy capacity by 2024.
