XRS mobile platform for fleet optimization recognized for innovation in Enterprise Solution: General Business category

MINNEAPOLIS (May 2, 2013)— XRS Corporation (formerly Xata Corporation; NASDAQ: XRSC) was named a finalist in the Enterprise Solution: General Business category of CTIA’s annual Emerging Technology (E-Tech) Awards competition. The CTIA E-Tech Awards honor the industry’s most innovative new wireless products and services in mobile apps, consumer electronics, enterprise and vertical markets, and network applications. Winners will be announced at CTIA 2013™, taking place May 21-23, 2013 at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas. CTIA is an international association representing the wireless communications industry with members including wireless carriers and suppliers, as well as providers and manufacturers of wireless data services and products.

Between now and May 20, website visitors may vote for the “Best Online Pick” at www.ctiashow.com/awards. CTIA 2013 show attendees will vote on-site via text message for entries in the E-Tech Awards display to win “Best in Show.”

“We are thrilled to be a finalist for a prestigious CTIA E-Tech Award,” said Jay Coughlan, chairman and CEO of XRS Corporation. “Technology trends are transforming the trucking industry with a convergence of forces, allowing the entire industry to operate more safely and efficiently. We’re proud to lead this industry transformation with our XRS mobile platform, which represents the kind of wireless innovation the industry needs to drive future growth and opportunity.”

The new XRS mobile platform, which entered general release in March 2013, runs on more than 50 types of devices and automatically transmits vehicle and operator data directly to a management dashboard, preparing for compliance with the pending MAP-21 compliance mandate for recording hours-of-service. Nearly 90 percent of drivers already use mobile devices, meaning there are no additional hardware costs associated with the XRS platform, and XRS Corporation has partnership agreements with the leading brands in mobile communications in both the U.S. and Canada.

A panel of highly respected industry experts, reporters and analysts judged nearly 300 entries. Submissions were scored on innovation, functionality, technological importance, implementation and overall “wow” factor. E-Tech winners, including Best in Show and Online Pick, will be announced at the awards ceremony on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. PDT at CTIA’s Exhibit Innovations State on the trade show floor within CTIA World, booth #5646.
