XYMOGEN Receives SMART Award for Corporate Excellence in Health Care and Life Sciences Industry
ORLANDO, Fla. — May 21, 2013 — Orlando-based nutraceutical company XYMOGEN announced today that it is the recipient of the 2013 SMART award for corporate excellence in the health care and life sciences industry from the Orlando chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG).
XYMOGEN is a family-owned, health-sciences company that researches, develops, and manufactures high-quality prescription medical foods and nutraceuticals available exclusively through doctors, pharmacists and other health care providers.
ACG Orlando presents the annual SMART awards to recognize companies for the value they bring to Central Florida through accomplishments in corporate culture, growth, business creativity and economic contribution. The awards demonstrate the association’s continuing commitment to facilitate relationships among middle-market companies, capital sources and professionals active in corporate finance.
Qualified candidate companies must have headquarters in Central Florida and annual revenue of $10 million to $1 billion. Once nominations are received and reviewed by a volunteer member committee, finalists are forwarded to an independent panel of judges for winner selection.
“This award is an affirmation of all the hard work XYMOGEN’s more than 200 employees have done to make XYMOGEN a leader in the health sciences industry,” said Brian Blackburn, XYMOGEN’s CEO and president. “XYMOGEN achieved $46.5 million in revenues last year, and in all but the fourth quarter of each year, revenues for each quarter have exceeded the prior quarter, despite a sluggish economy. That’s due to strong core values and equally strong financial footing.”
XYMOGEN is projecting $59 million in sales for 2013, with average daily sales of more than $230,000, and $75 million in 2014.
In May 2012, XYMOGEN opened a 136,000-square-foot manufacturing facility and headquarters in Orlando that includes more than 40,000 square feet of space dedicated to manufacturing and packaging and a 4,000-square-foot laboratory to test all raw materials and goods. The company’s formulas are developed based on scientific research, evidence-based dosing and rigorous testing.
