From dancing on the beaches of the Maldives to electrifying, full production parties for just two guests, entertainment on board superyachts can be beyond extravagant. Yachting Pages spoke to one of the world’s leading entertainment and event management companies, Riviera Organisation, to understand just what events and parties on board superyachts can entail.
Caroline Mackley of Riviera Organisation explained how one summer they created a Moulin Rouge party on board a superyacht in Ibiza. Caroline commented, “The party consisted of over 40 dancers, singers, musicians, visual artists and technicians and was only for the owner and his wife.”
Caroline also explained how once, “During the Monaco Grand Prix one year, we held a party on a yacht in honour of a dead person, "Porn Eric” who died while … OK you guessed it! The whole event was centred around a coffin and it was one of the wildest parties I’ve ever seen.”
Riviera Organisation has previously worked with some of the world’s most famous stars including Elton John, Bono and Michael Schumacher. Caroline said, “Every year, we organise events for Prince Albert of Monaco, and one year, he had so much fun, he was up on the tables singing Highway to Hell.”
Last year, when they organised an event on a superyacht in Sardinia Caroline commented, “We were 70 artists and technicians in total for just eight guests. The lasting memory was travelling back on a tender with two tenor singers brought over from London. They were still in fine form singing away and the yacht was superbly lit next to us, with incredible Sardinian scenery as a backdrop. It’s moments like that that make the hard work worthwhile.”
A final example Caroline mentioned was a New Year’s Eve party in the Maldives, “Personally, I love the projects that take us abroad, especially when there is an opportunity to discover new places. We have a good client in the Maldives and I remember one New Year’s Eve party in a luxury resort with everyone dancing in the sand. It was amazing.”
Riviera Organisation is based on the French Riviera and has extensive experience organising events for luxury clientele and superyachts all around the world.
