This is how 10,000 patients lost 100 tons of weight

Patients of the digital healthcare provider Yazen have now collectively lost 100 tons with a new method that combines lifestyle changes with modern drugs. On average, a patient loses 12 percent of their body weight in 6 months, which corresponds to an average of 12 kg.

Since its launch in Sweden just over a year ago, the digital healthcare provider Yazen has  around 10,000 patients. These patients have lost more than 100 tons combined and reduced their waist size by just over 1,000 meters. In addition, reduced calorie intake has meant reduced costs by GRP 3m for the patients.

– The biggest gain is, of course, for the patients who have significantly improved health. Weight loss prevents many secondary diseases such as type 2 diabetes, heart and vascular diseases and  reduces the risk of developing several forms of cancer. It also results in reduced costs for care and large savings for society, as if untreated, this group of patients often suffer from many side effects, says Martin Carlsson, researcher, doctor and specialist in endocrinology/diabetology and founder of Yazen.

Data on roughly 8,000 patients treated for at least three months with the Yazen model show that the average BMI was 33.9% and 77% of the patients were women. On average, patients lost 4% after one month and 8% after 3 months. After 6 months, a mean weight loss of 12% was achieved for patients treated with Yazen but a quarter of patients lost 16% or more. Blood pressure, blood sugar levels, liver tests, blood lipids and quality of life were also greatly improved.

Jill tried everything - no method worked
Jill Andersson is 48 years old and works as a time study technician at an IT company. She played handball at an elite level as a youngster, but was injured and forced to quit. This was the starting point for rapid weight gain. At most her weight reached 45 kilos. To get down, she has tried everything; Weight Watchers, the soup diet, the Banana diet, the Copenhagen diet - diets that no normal weight person could imagine. With Yazen, it took Jill just over 6 months to lose 20 kilos and has now reduced her BMI from 37.9 to 31.1.

“I have finally found something that works. I feel calm and safe with what I am doing. Now I can lose weight and keep it off. I eat the same food as I always cooked, but in smaller quantities” says Jill Andersson.

Meet more patients

Yazen receives daily emails from patients whose lives have transformed thanks to their weight loss. We are happy to provide contact to patients around Sweden. Here is a sample:

Conny Isaksson. Went from 148 kg to 98 kg in a year. Now off blood pressure medicine (took 5 tablets a day before) and went from XXXXL to XL.

Sofia Heimer Karlsson. Life has gone from heavy to easy with 44 kg weight loss.

Bricell Hallberg has been overweight all his life. In the past she had lost a total of 80 kilos but has always put the weight back on. Since October, she has lost 12 kg and finally feels calm.

Jenny Eriksdotter had never felt a sense of satiety. From weighing almost 95 kilos, she is now just 9 kilos from her target weight
